PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The 1,100 acre Marina Bay project is the largest urban redevelopment project in Southeast Asia.  AECOM was selected to prepare a refined master plan and a next-generation sustainability program and strategy.  The master plan includes:

  • 150 million square feet of development

  • 200,000 residents

  • 400,000 employees

  • 1.3 million annual visitors

The planning process utilized GIS-based spatial analytics and the Sustainable Systems Integration Model (SSIM) to achieve a 35% carbon footprint reduction.

The project is well underway and continues to provide a global model for high density, urban sustainable development.

Steve Kellenberg was Principle-in-Charge for the sustainability component of the project as well as a contributor to the urban design team.
