PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Rancho Santa Margarita, developed by RMV in South Orange County, California, is arguably the largest, most successful ‘affordable’ community in the nation.
At 5,000 acres and with over 15,000 dwellings, the high percentage of attached and qualified affordable housing (over 50%) at the time of development was at the time, and presently, a bold and progressive accomplishment.
The community was the top selling in the US for five years running with absorption topping 1,600 units per year.
Steve Kellenberg was a primary planner and ultimately Principal in Charge of the PBR planning team.
