PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Verrado is an 8,000 acre new community in the West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona. The distance from downtown and the lack of accessible services required an innovative approach in opening the 5,200 dwelling project. A walkable District Core was designed anchored by a small grocery and a mixed use block of lofts over retail. A high level of neighborhood crafting led to strong distinction within the regional market resulting in unusually high sales velocity and strong builder demand for subsequent phase parcels.
Steve Kellenberg led the planning team while at EDAW and master planned the first three phase of the community before sales discontinued at the advent of the great recession. Sales continue strongly today as the original master plan is carried out.
